Welsh singer, Wynne Evans has been axed from the Strictly Come Dancing live tour after making an inappropriate comment to Janette Manrara.

Wynne Evans reportedly made a sexual comment during the launch of the tour which he has since apologised for.

The 53-year-old came under fire earlier this week for making an inappropriate and unacceptable remark during the launch event in Birmingham.

In a video filmed on January 16, Evans was heard making a sexual comment to the professional dancer and tour host.

On Tuesday, sources said Evans has been told to take time off for “self reflection” after multiple “warnings” about his behaviour.

A source told The Sun: “He’s had repeated warnings about his behaviour and told to reign it in. He’s not been taking it in, in this day and age the BBC have to be seen taking action and safeguard everyone.

“He’s had a tough time with the death of his brother and people should give him some slack, he is going to take this time off to do some self reflection.”

The source added that he has received a lot of support from those backstage but that it is a really sad end to the tour.

The singer was involved in controversy during the competition after “awkward moments” with professional dance partner Katya Jones during last year’s Strictly Come Dancing series.

But both Jones and Evans insisted the incidents – where Jones looked to decline a high-five from Evans and appeared to move Evans’ hand from her waist – were part of a “running joke” between the pair.

There are 12 dates left on the tour with the cast due to perform in Liverpool on Tuesday night.

The BBC will reportedly release a statement later today.
