Legendary WWE commentator Jim Ross has been diagnosed with colon cancer.

This is not the first health scare that the 73-year-old has shared with fans, as he previously has suffered from skin cancer.

In a post to X on Thursday, the wrestling legend wrote: “Diagnosed this week with colon cancer. Surgery being scheduled in the next week or two. I appreciate your concern and support.”

Ross formed one half of an iconic broadcasting duo, alongside Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler, during the 1990s which in the WWE is known as the Attitude Era.

The era included the likes of The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Undertaker, and Mick Foley and is widely regarded as the WWE’s most succesful and popular time period.

Fans were quick to show their support online for Ross following his announcement, with one X user saying: “Love you Jim sending nothing but love and positive energy.”

Another wrote: “Praying for you Jim. The whole wrestling world will keep you in their thoughts and send strength I’m sure!”

Someone else commented: “You’re my inspiration for even picking up a Mic, Jim. Wishing you a speedy and healthy recovery, you got this GOAT.”

Ross was diagnosed with skin cancer back in October 2021 and underwent 20 radiation treatments to overcome the disease in 2023.

He currently is employed by Tony Khan’s All Elite Wrestling (AEW).
