President Trump has revoked security clearances from a number of Democrats including Kamala Harris, Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, and Biden's family members.
Among the 15 people who had their access revoked, this included Republican Wyoming Republican Rep. Liz Cheney, former Secretary of State Antony Blinken, and Fiona Hill, a Russian expert who testified against Trump in his first impeachment hearing.
Access was also revoked for New York’s top two law enforcement officials, Letitia James (the New York attorney general) and Alvin L. Bragg (Manhattan’s district attorney), both of whom took on Trump, reports the New York Times.
Clearance was also pulled for Alexander Vindman, a retired Army Lieutenant Colonel, who testified against Trump.
In a statement, Trump said: "I have determined that it is no longer in the national interest for the … individuals to access classified information.
“I hereby direct every executive department and agency head to take all additional action as necessary … to revoke any active security clearances held by the aforementioned individuals and to immediately rescind their access to classified information.
“I also direct all executive department and agency heads to revoke unescorted access to secure United States Government facilities from these individuals."
