Travis Scott says he is “absolutely devastated” after eight die at AstroWorld Festival

At least eight people died during his set on Friday night.

Travis Scott has said that he is "absolutely devastated" after at least eight people died and hundreds more were injured in a crowd surge during his performance at AstroWorld Festival in Houston. During his set, at the festival which he organises, the 50,000 string crowd surged forward, crushing those at the front. This caused a 'mass casualty incident', with 11 people having to go to hospital in cardiac arrest, and hundred more treated for injuries at the festival. In a statement on Twitter the rapper said he was "absolutely devastated by what took place last night" and that his "prayers go out to the families and all those impacted." He added that Houston Police Department has "my total support as they continue to look into the tragic loss of life."
