The Simpsons’ writer Steve Pepoon has died unexpectedly at the age of 68.

Pepoon, who won an Emmy for his work on the legendary show, also co-created the Nickelodeon show The Wild Thornberry’s.

He died unexpectedly earlier this month on May 3 outside of his home in Paola, Kansas.

For the last two years, Pepoon had been in treatment for a heart condition called cardiac amyloidosis.

According to the NHS, amyloidosis is a rare condition where a protein builds up in the body.

While the condition cannot be cured there are treatments available that can help symptoms.

Aside from his work on The Simpsons, Pepoon also worked on ALF, It’s Garry Shandling’s Show, Get A Life, and Ferris Bueller.
