Pictures show the gruesome moment a victim stabbed in the neck approaches police covered in blood for help – and survives.

The victim, 32, was stabbed with a kitchen knife and can be seen dripping with blood as he holds the wound with his hand.

The male victim, who has not been named, had banged on the doors of neighbouring properties for help.

He was assaulted by Michael White in Wyton, Cambridgeshire, at 4am on 16 April, 2022.

White, 37, ran from the scene and hailed down a member of the public, demanding a lift to St Ives.

He told the driver: “[I’ve] just killed someone”.

He then threatened to stab the driver.

When they arrived in the town he pulled out a knife and punched the driver in the face before walking to the home of an associate. There he washed his clothes, the knife and his phone.

The driver called police and White was arrested less than three hours later at his home at 7am.

Detective Constable Kenny Reeves, who investigated, the stabbing said: “White is a dangerous man who considers himself to be above the law and has no concern for the lives or safety of others. “The sentence he has been given reflects the seriousness of his actions and the danger he poses to members of the public.”

On Monday, White was given a life sentence at Cambridge Crown Court, Cambs.

The stab victim had suffered from multiple slash wounds to his hands and face and was saved with emergency surgery at Addenbrookes Hospital after a serious arterial bleed.

In a previous incident White attacked a 15-year-old boy unprovoked, biting off a chunk of his ear in May 2020.
