Target smashed as Premier League star donates to Noah Woods fundraiser

Over £100,000 has been raised in support of the Woods family following the death of Brantham three-year-old

Noah’s disappearance occurred Tuesday afternoon after being separated from his relatives at a Brantham playground, prompting the huge community effort. 

The three-year-old, who was partially deaf, non-verbal and assessed for autism, was found in Decoy Pond the following day.

Police have stated that Noah’s untimely death was not being treated as suspicious. 

A fundraiser has been set up for the grieving Woods family, organised by a Colchester-based community, Good Dad’s Club.

The fundraiser surpassed the £100,00 target, currently at £104,000, which includes a £2,000 donation from Ipswich Town defender, Leif Davis. 

The organisers said the funds were to aid the Woods in this time of grief, helping with direct expenses and to take time off work as they adapt to the situation.

The fundraiser read: "In light of the news regarding three-year-old Noah Woods, Good Dads Club is calling on our community to give whatever they can to ease the overwhelming burden on his family during this heartbreaking time.

"While no amount of money can undo these life altering events, every single financial contribution will go directly toward helping Noah's family's expenses, navigate daily bills, and take the necessary time off work to grieve without the added strain of financial worry.

"Please consider donating today, no contribution is too small and share this campaign so we can surround Noah's loved ones with the solidarity they desperately need."

Rhys Woods, Noah’s father, previously paid tribute to his son on a Facebook post: "There are no words to describe the pain of this loss.

"We are all absolutely heartbroken. Noah was the sweetest and most innocent little boy, with nothing but love to give, and we are going to miss him so very much."
