A suspect has been arrested after a truck crashed into a Christmas market in Berlin, killing at least nine people and injuring at least 50 others.
The suspect is reported to have fled the scene after the attack, but German TV report that a person reported to have been the driver of the truck has been arrested.
It is being investigated as an act of terrorism, after initial reports had suggested those investigating the incident were not ruling out an accident.

The market was situated close to Kurfuerstendamm avenue, close to the ruined Kaiser Wilhelm memorial church.
According to the
Associated Press, a passenger was found dead in the vehicle at the centre of the incident.
CNN quotes Julian Reichelt, editor-in-chief at German newspaper
Bild, who has compared the incident to the Nice terror attack earlier this year.
More than 80 people died in the French city in July when a truck driver ploughed into a crowd of people out celebrating Bastille Day.
CNN also carries comments from eyewitness Emma Rushton, a British journalist who was at the market at the time.
"There's no way it was an accident," said Rushton, who said the truck was likely travelling at around 40 miles per hour.
