A major UK supermarket is closing most of its branches for three days over the festive period in order to give its staff a break.
Workers across the country will be looking forward to a break over the next few weeks, but for those working in retail and hospitality, this isn't always guaranteed.
However, one major supermarket chain has revealed that they will be closed for three full days over the festive period.
Lidl has announced its Christmas opening hours, and revealed that it will be closing most of its stores for the duration of Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day.
The retailer has thousands of stores across the UK, and all of those outside of the M25 will be closed across the three days.
According to Lidl's website, its stores inside the M25 will be open from 10.00 until 18.00 on Boxing Day and New Year's Day.
Stores in Scotland are also expected to be open on Boxing Day, with operating hours from 11.00 til 17.00.
Lidl is not the only retailer shutting its doors over the festive period.
Aldi has confirmed that its stores will once again be closed on Boxing Day.
Marks & Spencer is also keeping the majority of its shops closed on December 26, as is Home Bargains.
