Scottish comedian Janey Godley has died in a hospice at the age of 63.
Godley had been receiving treatment for ovarian cancer after she was forced to cancel her ‘Why Is She Still Here?’ tour.
The 63-year-old found viral fame with her dubbed videos of Nicola Sturgeon's Covid briefings during the pandemic, revealed she had ovarian cancer in November 2021.
Her manager Chris David announced the news saying she died peacefully surrounded by her loved ones.
He said: He said: "It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our client Doctor Janey Godley on 2 November.
"Janey died peacefully in the wonderful Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice in Glasgow surrounded by her loved ones.
"She will be hugely missed by her family, friends and her many fans.
"She will be remembered for her legendary voiceovers of Nicola Sturgeon during the pandemic, her hilarious and outspoken comedy, but most of all for just being 'Janey'."
A post on her Instagram account, accompanied a video of her daughter announcing the news.
The post read: "Earlier this morning Janey passed away in her sleep. Her family were with her.
"The love and support from all her friends and fans during this cancer journey brought her enormous joy. It has also been a huge comfort to us, her family and close friends, thank you.
"We will take time now to comfort one another and wish to thank everyone for respecting our privacy at this time. Remember her in your laughter, she would have liked that."
It comes just days after her daughter Ashley Storrie gave an update saying her mum was in the 'final beats of her life'.
On Thursday Godley was made an honorary doctorate of the University of Glasgow and smiled for a picture with her certificate in her hospice bed.
