Kensington Palace have confirmed the name of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s third child

The royal baby has been named Louis Arthur Charles. Who saw that coming.

Kensington Palace confirmed the news in a statement:

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to announce that they have named their son Louis Arthur Charles. The baby will be known as His Royal Highness Prince Louis of Cambridge.

The newest addition to the royal family entered the world on Monday at 11.01 AM as Kate Middleton gave birth to a baby boy, her third child with Prince William, Duke of Cambridge.

Paddy Power actually paid out on Wills and Kate choosing ‘Arthur’ on Monday,

The name had soared to the top of the betting (2/1) after a ‘royal flood’ of backers.

Spokesman Paddy Power said: “Kate and Will might be keeping tight-lipped in public, but we think enough people have ‘Arthur’ clue as to the name.”

Louis was born on the Lindo wing of St Mary’s hospital.

Kensington Palace shared a sweet announcement on behalf of the couple, which said: “Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a son at 1101hrs.

“The baby weighs 8lbs 7oz. The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth.

“Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well.”

They later added:

“The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and members of both families have been informed and are delighted with the news.”

It was announced on Monday morning that Kate had been admitted to St Mary’s Hospital in London in the early stages of labour.

The statement from Kensington Palace said: “Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was admitted to St. Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, London earlier this morning in the early stages of labour.

“The Duchess travelled by car from Kensington Palace to the Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s Hospital with The Duke of Cambridge.”

Disappointingly, the Duke and and Duchess of Cambridge disregarded JOE’s own stunning name suggestions, which included Jelly, Kay Burley and Little’un Middleton.

Not only that, apparently the monarchy don’t give a shit about democracy either (shocker), because they also ignored the top suggestion in our poll.
