Police remove Just Stop Oil protestors from Dartford Crossing

A giant cherrypicker was deployed to bring them down

Two Just Stop Oil protesters have been safely removed from the Dartford Bridge after staging a 37-hour protest.

The campaigners scaled up two of the 84-metre-tall masts in the early hours of Monday morning, causing the entire bridge to be closed off.

Traffic has been redirected through two tunnels over the last two days, causing heavy buildups of traffic on both sides of the vital Thames River crossing.

According to a tweet sent out by the campaign group, the efforts of Morgan and Marcus have “majorly disrupted fuel deliveries from Essex to the South East of England”.

At one point, locals took to shooting fireworks at the pair in the middle of the night.

Footage of the shocking incident was shared online and shows fireworks being thrown in the protesters’ direction, seemingly in a violent bid to encourage the protesters away from the bridge.
