What a man

What a man.

It’s almost impossible to find someone that dislikes New Zealand hero Sonny Bill Williams as his talent on the field – and in the ring – is only exceeded by his decency as a man off it.

The entire sporting world fell in love with the Chiefs star after he selflessly gave away his World Cup winners medal to a fan after New Zealand’s win against Australia in the final, and his most recent act of compassion will earn him even more admirers.

There are always issues that are bigger than sport and Williams is currently in Lebanon doing work with with UNICEF. At the minute, he’s highlighting the plight of children whose lives have been devastated by the conflict in Syria.

Williams is visiting the Saadnayel informal settlement in Faida, Bekaa Valley, where refugees live in tents and temporary shelters.

As stated on their fundraising page, ‘after years of violence and living in fear, these children have fled their homes traumatised and are living in tents and temporary shelters’.

The World Cup winner is currently doing his bit to help raise awareness and funds for this humanitarian cause.

What an absolute champ of a man.
