The US Department of Defence has released footage of what it refers to as "unidentified aerial phenomena," recorded by the US Navy.
The first video was taken in 2004, and the second two taken in 2015. While the videos had been unofficially released by a private company in the past, the Pentagon yesterday took the step of confirming the legitimacy of the footage.

The full videos can be accessed by the public here.
The voices of those recording the footage can be heard noting the strange speed, movements and shapes of the objects. The Pentagon has confirmed that the objects have not been identified and don't conform to anything in the US arsenal, or in any arsenal US intelligence is aware of.
In a statement issued yesterday (27 April), the DOD said: "After a thorough review, the department has determined that the authorised release of these unclassified videos does not reveal any sensitive capabilities or systems, and does not impinge on any subsequent investigations of military air space incursions by unidentified aerial phenomena.
"DOD is releasing the videos in order to clear up any misconceptions by the public on whether or not the footage that has been circulating was real, or whether or not there is more to the videos.
"The aerial phenomena observed in the videos remain characterised as 'unidentified'."
