We knew Leicester was going to be rocking this weekend, but this was unexpected.
Leicester’s local hospital saw twice as many patients admitted to A&E this weekend as Leicester celebrated their unlikely Premier League title win (Leicester City are champions of England. That is *still* weird to type).
Leicester Royal Infirmary bosses were urging people to take caution as A&E saw twice as many patients than it normally would on a Saturday night and Sunday morning.

It appears that Leicester City fans, and people in Leicester just wanting a good night took the streets this weekend to take part in the carnival spirit.
Leicester has been a city partying continuously since winning the Premier League title on Monday, and capped things off with a wonderful 3-1 victory over Everton on Saturday. Thousands of people flooded the city’s streets this weekend to celebrate the Premier League title win, the first in the team’s 132 year history.

Unfortunately, all that partying saw a small number of people admitted to hospital, with a percentage of people suffering  alcohol-related injuries.
The hospital’s spokesperson said: “Last night and this morning we have seen twice as many patients in our Emergency Department than we would normally on a Saturday night, Sunday morning.
“We expected it to be incredibly busy this weekend and have the necessary plans in place to safely treat our patients.”
Good on you Leicester fans for making the most of a historic weekend. Just try not to bang your head and mess about in traffic.
