Paris Hilton has revealed she has lost her family home in the devastating wildfires ripping through Los Angeles.
Some 1,900 buildings and structures have been destroyed as six blazes continue to burn in and around the city, and more than 130,000 people are under evacuation orders in the metropolitan area.
On Wednesday, the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Office confirmed five people had been killed by the wildfires.
One of the areas worst-hit is the Pacific Palisades, where the fire has become the most destructive in the history of LA. The picturesque neighbourhood, made up of hillside streets in the Santa Monica Mountains which lead down to beaches, is popular with A-listers, with many owning properties there.
One of those who has lost their home is Paris Hilton, who shared a post on Instagram of her and her family watching news coverage of the fires.
The hotel heiress wrote in the post: “Sitting with my family, watching the news, and seeing our home in Malibu burn to the ground on live TV is something no one should ever have to experience.
“This home is where we built so many precious memories… My heart and prayers are going out to every family affected by these fires.”
"My heartaches for those still in harm’s way or mourning greater losses. The devastation is unimaginable. To know so many are waking up today without the place they called home is truly heartbreaking." she wrote.
She confirmed that her family and pets were safe, and finished by voicing her gratitude and thanks to the emergency services fighting the blazes, labelling them
A number of other celebrities have been forced to evacuate because of the Palisades, with some also revealing their properties have been destroyed.
This includes the likes of Billy Crystal, Mark Hamill, Leighton Meester and Adam Brody.
Overnight on Wednesday, another inferno broke out in the Hollywood Hills. This has been named the Sunset Fire, and is starting to encroach on the iconic Hollywood sign.
The fire has already spread to cover an area of more than 43 acres.
Tinder-dry conditions and strong winds have caused the fires to spread rapidly, with the LAFD saying on Wednesday that they were unable to control the blazes.
According to Cal Fire, there are at least five fires raging in the LA area and nearby regions. The first of these was the Palisades Fire, which is the biggest fire and has covered more than 17,200 acres.

Two other fires, Woodly and Olivas, have been contained, local authorities have said.
