Tinder says they have over ONE MILLION paying users

'Tinder Plus' has been a big hit for the dating app

It appears for some Tinder users, one Super Like isn’t enough.

This week saw Tinder’s parent company Match Group release its quarterly figures, and in amongst all of the tales of the company’s success (they’ve racked up 100 million downloads since launching in 2012) was the fun little fact of how many people pay for Tinder Plus, the dating app’s premium subscription service.

As BuzzFeed reports, one million people are currently paying for Tinder Plus.

Tinder Plus gives its users unlimited swiping, five Super Likes a day (compared to the regular one), the ability to manually change location, and the ability to undo a swipe.

Tinder Plus currently costs between £6 – £14 a month, depending on your subscription.

The news comes at an interesting time for Tinder, as they look to shed its reputation as a simple “hook up” app. Tinder has recently launched a share feature, where you can recommend someone if you think they’re more of your friend’s type.

In Australia Tinder has also launched a group dating feature for those on the look out for double date opportunities, or just want to hang out with people when they’re in a new city.

Now with the news that more than 1 per cent are subscribed to its premium service, it’s looking like more and more, Tinder will be a social hub for people looking for love.
