Meanwhile, Obama has rarely missed an opportunity to launch lacerating attacks on Trump on the campaign trail.
And yesterday a gaping opportunity presented itself to the President.
Speaking in the key electoral state of Florida Obama seized on reports the Republican candidate has been banned from his own Twitter account.
He said: “Apparently his campaign has taken away his Twitter. In the last two days they had so little confidence in his self control, they just said 'we’re going to take away your Twitter'.
