Netflix quietly adds 13 huge movies to its library

Rory Cashin

Netflix is here to make your November that bit brighter!

Unlucky for some, but Netflix adding a baker’s dozen of big movies to its streaming library is lucky for us, giving us plenty of viewing inspiration over the coming days and weeks!

13 HOURS
Netflix kicks off its latest additions with this Michael Bay’s version of Black Hawk Down. An all-star war movie set against the real-world attack on the US Embassy in Libya. One of Bay’s best.

THE CORE
The core of the Earth has stopped spinning and only a group of scientists in a big drilling machine can save the day. This is basically Armageddon but with what looks like about 10% of the budget.

COACH CARTER
Samuel L. Jackson is great in this pretty average sports drama about a former athlete who decides to shape up his local basketball team.

FURRY VENGEANCE
A truly awful comedy about a property developer (Brendan Fraser) who finds himself under attack from local animals while he tries to get a building placed on their forest land.

GET CARTER
Sly Stallone stars in this pretty bad remake of the Michael Caine classic crime thriller.

MISS CONGENIALITY
When a gruff police officer (Sandra Bullock) is forced to go undercover as a beauty pageant contestant in order to stop a terrorist attack, will anyone believe that she has the beauty to be a winner? Well, yes, it is Sandra Bullock. But still, this movie is kinda fun.

MUNICH
Steven Spielberg’s brilliant retelling of the group of men (with some played by Eric Bana and Daniel Craig) who were tasked with assassinating the terrorist group responsible for killing athletes during the 1972 Munich Olympics.

THE NEGOTIATOR
When a famous negotiator (Samuel L. Jackson) is framed for a crime he didn’t commit, he takes his former colleagues hostage, leading to a complete stranger, and another famed negotiator (Kevin Spacey), to try to talk him down. A very decent action thriller.

PARASITE
Netflix has just added quite literally one of the best movies of the 21st century. Full details here.

PRIMAL FEAR
Richard Gere plays Chicago’s best lawyer, defending a young man (Edward Norton) in his trial for the murder of an important Archbishop. A hugely entertaining, twisty-turny legal thriller.

REMAINS OF THE DAY
Anthony Hopkins and Emma Thompson star in this lush, luxurious romantic drama. 96% on Rotten Tomatoes!

SHUTTER ISLAND
Sent to an isolated insane asylum to find a missing woman, a detective (Leonardo DiCaprio) is forced to question everything and everyone he sees in this dark psychological thriller from Martin Scorsese.

TMNT
Not to be confused with the very good 2023 animated feature, this is the very bad 2007 animated feature.
