A couple that named their baby after Adolf Hitler have been convicted of being members of a Neo-Nazi terrorist group

Adam Thomas and Claudia Patatas were convicted at Birmingham Crown Court of being members of National Action, a banned Neo-Nazi group. They named their baby after Adolf Hitler. Thomas, 22, gave his baby Adolf for a middle name and posed for pictures with it wearing Klu Klux Klan robes. He and his 38-year-old partner Patatas were charged with being members of the "extreme and violent" group which is a proscribed terrorist organisation. The court heard that Patatas and Thomas wanted to honour the Nazi leader Adolf Hitler by naming their baby after him and that over Whatsapp Patatas had written "all Jews must be put to death." The flag sat on a sofa which was adorned with swastika scatter cushions. Co-defendant Daniel Bogunovic, 27, of Leicester, was also convicted of membership of National Action. Thomas was also convicted on a majority verdict of owning a bomb-making manual - the Anarchist's Cookbook. Reacting to the guilty verdicts handed down to members of National Action in Birmingham today, Nick Lowles CEO of HOPE not hate, said: "We welcome these guilty verdicts. It confirms our long-held analysis, based on our investigations, that the threat of far-right terrorism is growing. "While we welcome the verdicts today, the authorities must be vigilant: the threat faced from far-right terrorism hasn't ended with this court case, and remains high."
