MasterChef contestant Matthew Gagnon has died aged 42.
Gagnon appeared on the eleventh series of American MasterChef, known as MasterChef: Legends, in 2021, where he cooked for judges Aarón Sánchez, Joe Bastianich and Gordon Ramsay.
He was eliminated in the sixth episode of the series.
Gagnon worked in construction, but his real 'passion' was cooking.
In his obituary, it was written that he died 'unexpectedly' on Monday, 15 December. His cause of death has not been publicly shared.

He is survived by his wife Stephanie, and their two children Haylee and Mason.
A GoFundMe has been set up to help his family with the costs related to his funeral.
"Matt was quick with a joke, loved a good time, and always made people laugh. He helped many and was simply a great guy everyone enjoyed being around," it reads.
"He loved preparing meals for family and friends, bringing people together with his culinary talents and warm spirit.
"His absence leaves a deep void in our lives, and he will be sorely missed by all of us who knew and loved him."
The fundraiser goes on to say: "Matt’s passing has left his wife and two young children facing not only heartbreak, but also the challenge of covering funeral expenses and meeting their immediate and future needs.
"We are coming together to support his family during this difficult time. Please consider contributing to help honor Matt’s memory and provide comfort and assistance to his loved ones. Your support will make a meaningful difference."
