
First of all, let's catch up on the facts.
Police say a heavy goods vehicle lost a wheel and jackknifed on the East Lancs Road (A580) - the main trunk road between Liverpool and Salford - spilling the ketchup all across the westbound carriageway.
Thankfully the lorry driver came away with only ‘bumps and bruises’ after the crash. There was said to be claret everywhere, but none of it was his.
