A gunman opened fire at a Marbella nightclub early Monday, leaving four people injured.
The incident took place at Opium Beach Club at around 1.10am. The gunman was stabbed in the head and the torso before being taken to hospital, where he remains in a serious condition.
Police confirmed four people suffered gunshot wounds, two of whom are in a serious condition in the intensive care unit of a Costa del Sol hospital, Surinenglish reports. Reports initially suggested a woman had died from her injuries, though officers have said they are not aware of any deaths.
The gunman is a Dutch national, according to police sources, while and one of the shooting victims is believed to be an Irish man.
One video circulating on social media shows a fight breaking out between multiple people at the venue, before gunshots are heard and partygoers begin to flee.

Dutch Love Island star Kelly van der Minne, who was at the club, recalled the moment a woman on the table next to her was shot in her backside.
In a video that she posted on her social media while walking home from Opium, she said: “I’m not joking, I was at the club Opium in Marbella and someone just got shot, a girl at a table next to us just got shot.
“This is like the craziest thing that’s ever happened, what the f***.
“She got shot in the butt, they got into an argument and she got shot in the butt. How does this happen?”
Froilán de Marichalar, the nephew of the Spanish King Felipe VI, was also believed to be celebrating his 24th birthday at the club last night.
A spokesman for Spain’s National Police said: “With regards to the shooting incident at Opium in Marbella we can confirm that five people were injured. Four have suffered gunshot wounds, one of whom is in a serious condition.
“A person who is the suspected gunman has suffered stab wounds to the chest and head. He has been arrested and is under police custody.
“The police investigation is ongoing.”
