As you were probably aware, O2's UK users were faced with a mobile data blackout on Thursday that meant many millions of people were unable to use their phones. As a result, the network is liable to compensate users in certain circumstances, which you can read all about here to check whether you have entitled to make a claim. What you shouldn't do, however, is text a random telephone number you find on the internet with 'REFUND', in the hope of finding £50 added to your credit. Which is what caused this rather solemn sounding apology from the network that reads: "We’ve seen individuals sharing numbers to call or text for compensation. These are not right and not from us. Please don’t respond.
