At a time when many banks are reducing their presence on the High Street, a major bank in the UK has announced that it is closing 95 more branches.
Lloyds Banking Group has said that between May this year and March of next year, 53 Lloyds, 31 Halifax and 11 Bank of Scotland sites would shut.
People are being offered a range of options to manage their money, according to Lloyds.
The biggest banking group in the UK said that once all the announced closures are complete, it will have 610 branches remaining in total.
The bank had already announced a closure programme, and by October this year 49 sites will shut.

“Customers want the freedom to bank in the way that works for them and we offer more choice and ways to manage money than ever before”, a spokesperson for Lloyds stated.
The spokesperson added that Lloyds’ apps are used by more than 21 million customers in the UK as their main way to the bank.
Lloyds’ latest announcement comes less than two weeks after Santander UK confirmed it was closing another 44 branches, as 291 jobs are now at risk.
In the last few years, NatWest and Barclays have also closed branches.
There has been less use of branches by customers in the UK, which as a result of the banking apps and the increasing number of remotely provided services.
