Major delays are being experienced at a UK airport due to bad weather as well as a runway closure.
Manchester Airport is experiencing delays due to bad weather and has also been forced to close one of its two runways after what FlightRadar24 described as a "surface failure".
The Manchester Evening News reported that the delays are due to the "weather conditions and poor visibility".
While many flights are still operating, delays of up to six hours are to be expected.
Meanwhile, the paper reported that repairs are being made to a taxiway which has a "minor defect".
However, it was also reported that the bad weather is making repairs harder to undertake.
Despite the delays, Manchester Airport has advised passengers to proceed as usual with their travel plans.
As of the time of writing, FlightRadar24 have given the airport a 5/5 on their disruption index, which indicates "major problems with long delays and several cancelled flights."
It also estimates that the current average delay at the airport is 83 minutes.
