Prime is accused of trademark infringement

US Olympic bosses are suing the brand of trademark infringement, claiming Prime used trademarked Olympic phrases and symbols on a special edition of its hydration drink, featuring basketball star and three-time Olympic gold medallist Kevin Durant.

They claim Prime does not have an agreement for the use of terminology and trademarks, labelling the brand's actions as "deliberate" and accusing them of acting "in bad faith."

In the lawsuit, which was filed in Colorado on Friday, Prime is also accused of using the trademarks in internet campaigns and promotions.

The lawsuit claims consumers could be misled into thinking the US Olympic and Paralympic Committee has a relationship with Prime, CBS News reports.

Despite issuing a cease and desist letter, Logan Paul and KSI's drinks brand has continued to market the product in question with the same branding, the committee said.

The YouTubers, who have more than 40 million followers between them on the platform, launched Prime in 2022.

There was huge demand for the drink in when it was released in the UK, particularly from children and teenagers who were fans of Paul and KSI.

But the brand has been criticised in the past for marketing a high caffeine drink to a younger audience.

Prime also has a 'hydration' drink, which is caffeine-free.
