When we last saw John Wick in Chapter 4 last year, the fate of the assassin looked fairly cut and dry and there were a lot of questions over whether we would ever see him again.
However, we should all know by now, you can't keep John Wick down, as it's been confirmed that Keanu Reeves will return as the iconic character for the upcoming spinoff movie Ballerina.
The flick starring Ana De Armas is set in the fictional world of John Wick, in between the events of the third and fourth movie.
De Armas stars as a ballerina-assassin called Rooney, who is on a mission to hunt down those who killed her family.
The explosive new trailer, which has not been released to the public yet, premiered at CinemaCon this week in Las Vegas, with Variety reporting that Reeves shows up in the clip.
“How do I start doing what you do?” De Armas' character asks the legendary hit man, to which he replies: “Looks like you already have."
Reeves’ appearance in the trailer reportedly drew loud applause from the crowd, and the clip provided plenty of action from De Armas including "torching a truck with a flamethrower, leaping from moving vehicles and engaging in brutal hand-to-hand combat in a burning building."
Ballerina has a stacked supporting cast including Anjelica Huston, Gabriel Byrne, Norman Reedus, Ian McShane, and Lance Reddick in his last on-screen appearance after his untimely death last year.
Officially announced in April 2022, Ballerina has had its release date delayed to June 6, 2025 for additional shooting.
Lionsgate motion picture group chair Adam Fogelson said "the filmmakers were given the opportunity to add significant set pieces to the film."
