Jennifer Coolidge says she lived with co-star after filming intimate scene with him for American Pie

'I wasn't the love of his life'

Despite appearing in a number of iconic comedy movies throughout the years – notably those helmed by American satirist and Spinal Tap guitarist Christopher Guest – Coolidge, now 60, scored her breakout role by playing mom to Sean William Scott’s frat-boy Stifler in 1999’s raunchy teen hit American Pie.

In addition to being the object of obsession for all of Stifler’s high-school pals, Coolidge’s role as the character’s attractive mum also helped popularise the term ‘MILF.’

The actor has previously spoken about how the film helped her out in the bedroom department in real life, claiming that she "got a lot of sexual action from American Pie."

There was one person who she lived with but wasn't romantically involved with though: her co-star Eddie Kaye Thomas.

This was despite the fact they filmed some pretty intimate scenes together.

Thomas plays Finch in the films, and fans of the franchise will know his character hooks up with Stifler's mum in the first film and two of the sequels.

The co-stars lived together for a couple of years in Los Angeles in the early noughties, but were platonic housemates, sleeping in separate rooms.

Speaking to GQ about the living arrangement last year, Coolidge said she "wasn't the love of his life," adding: “He had girlfriends. My bedroom was across the hallway from his.”

Although they were on-screen lovers, the pair never took their American Pie relationship into their private lives.

Coolidge starred in four American Pie movies between 1999 and 2012, leading all the way to her final appearance (so far) in American Reunion.

In addition to the American Pie series, Coolidge has also starred in Legally Blonde and its sequel and episodes of Sex and the City.
