Game of Thrones, James Bond and Doctor Who star Tom Chadbon has died aged 80.

Tributes flooded in the for veteran actor who had roles across a range of big productions.

These included the likes of Doctor Who, Game of Thrones and Casino Royale.

He also appeared in Peep Show amongst other shows and films.

Chadbon's death was confirmed by Fanton Events, who he was a client of.

A statement read: "We are sorry to hear the news that Tom Chadbon passed away last weekend.

"Tom was a familiar face to many from his numerous television and film credits, including Doctor Who, James Bond and Game of Thrones. He was always a warm and friendly man to work with and we send our condolences to his family at this sad time."

Chadbon played a number of characters in Doctor Who, including Duggan, who appeared in the TV show regularly between 1979 and 1986.

He also returned to the show many years later as Merdeen in The Trial of the Time Lord.

One of his last roles was as High Septon Maynard in Game of Thrones.

Across his career, he also appeared in Sherlock Holmes, Midsomer Murders, The Bill and Foyle's War.

He was also a regular on Where the Heart Is.

Writer Cavan Scott paid tribute to Chadbon, writing: "So sorry to hear the passing of the great Tom Chadbon who I shared many a happy studio session with while producing Blake’s 7, not to mention the storyfilled meals after recordings. An absolute gent. God speed, Tom."
