The government have decided to demolish Grenfell Tower eight years on from the deadly fire which claimed 72 lives.
Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner told a meeting yesterday that the London tower block would be dismantled to ground level.
The government previously stated that the building could be unsafe due to the vast extent of the fire damage, reports BBC News.
The decision to dismantle the tower has been met with criticism.
A spokesperson for Grenfell United said that nobody at the meeting supported the decision and that they feel like they have been ignored.
There have been years of debate over the future of Grenfell Tower with some families of victims hoping that the tower would remain standing as a reminder of the tragedy.
Others wished for the tower to be replaced with a memorial.
In a statement, the spokesperson for Grenfell United said: "Today's meeting showed just how upset bereaved and survivors are about not having their views heard or considered in this decision.
"Ignoring the voices of bereaved on the future of our loved ones' gravesite is disgraceful and unforgivable."
