This is disgusting…

Former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski has mocked a story about a 10-year-old girl with Down syndrome who was separated from her mother at the U.S.-Mexico border due to the Trump Administration’s “zero tolerance” policy on immigration.

When Democratic strategist Zac Petkanas discussed a story about the girl with Down syndrome who had been taken away from her mother at the border, Lewandowski interrupted saying: “Womp, womp.”

“I read about a 10-year-old girl with Down syndrome who is taken from her mother and put in a cage,” Petkanas said.

To which Lewandowski said: “Womp, womp.”

The story was initially shared by Mexican Foreign Minister Luis Videgaray, who said that this story was particularly painful.

Since last month, 2,342 children, have been separated from their families, and put in the government’s care under President Trump’s new “zero tolerance” policy, according to federal officials.

The US President has said that he sees no other option to family separations to ensure that illegal immigrants don’t “pour into” the US and “infest” the country.
