A female zookeeper has been killed by a tiger at Hamerton Zoo Park in Cambridgeshire.

According to reports, the animal entered the enclosure while the keeper was inside although no further details have been made available as of yet. Cambridge Police issued the following Twitter posts after the terrible accident: https://twitter.com/CambsCops/status/869194812083384321 https://twitter.com/CambsCops/status/869245510229602304 The Independent reports that social media posts originally suggested that the tiger had escaped, with police eager to reassure the public that this was not the case. It is believed that the zoo was particularly busy as today is a bank holiday in the UK but all visitors were safely evacuated by staff. Main image via YouTube
