Having gathered intelligence about Russian intervention in the election from a variety of sources, CIA officials informed senators in Washington earlier this month, specifically telling them, according to the Washington Post, that it was “quite clear” that electing Trump was one of Russia’s goals.
It had been suggested that the FBI didn’t agree with the CIA’s claims of Russian intervention but the fact that all three agencies are united in agreement over the issue dismisses those suggestions.
President-elect Donald Trump has repeatedly rejected claims of Russian intervention in the election.
