Homenews

'Do not travel' warnings have been issued

Southern, Thameslink, and Gatwick Express services are all facing major disruption this morning after a train derailed.

The three train operators have since issued 'do not travel’ warnings, as cancellations and delays of up to an hour expected until 1 pm.

The train derailed close to Selhurst Depot, leading to it blocking the lines towards Norwood Junction and London Bridge.

Fortunately, no one has been injured.

Additionally, a fault with the signalling system between Norwood Junction and London Blackfriars is also behind today's delays.

Impacted Southern services include:

  • Epsom to London Bridge services suspended
  • Tattenham Corner/Caterham to London Bridge services diverted via an alternative route
  • Uckfield to London Bridge – a reduced service

Thameslink announced the following services are suspended:

  • London Bridge to East Grinstead
  • Brighton to Cambridge
  • Bedford to Three Bridges
