Olivia Pratt-Korbel’s family have released a statement following her death in Liverpool on Monday night.

The nine-year-old was tragically shot and killed when a gunman opened fire through the door of her home in Kingsheath Avenue in the Knotty Ash area of Liverpool around 10pm on Monday.

The gunman had been chasing, Joseph Nee, a convicted drug dealer, when he entered Olivia’s family home and opened fire.

Paying tribute, her family described her as a “unique chatty, nosey little girl who broke the mould when she was born”

They said: “Although her life was short, her personality certainly wasn’t.

“She lived it to the most she could, and would blow people away with her wit and kindness.”

The family went on to appeal for anyone with information to come forward to police, saying “now is the time to speak up.”

“It is not about being a ‘snitch’ or a ‘grass’ it is about finding out who took our baby away from us,” they added.

Earlier on Thursday, police announced they were following a “number of very positive lines of inquiry” in the investigation into the murder of Olivia.

Detective Chief Superintendent Mark Kameen confirmed that the man responsible for the “brutal, callous, thoughtless” attack had not surrendered, as police had requested, and said police will “not rest until we find you, and we will find you”.

Kameen said Nee, 35, who was shot during the incident, remains in hospital and will be returned to prison once his “treatment is finalised”.

He said the second man with Nee when the incident unfolded, shortly before 10pm on Monday, had now been identified.
