Demi Lovato comes out as non-binary, updates pronouns to they/them

"I'm doing this for those out there haven't been able to share who they truly are with their loved ones."

Demi Lovato has come out as non-binary and will be changing their pronouns to they/them. In a video shared on Twitter, the singer and former Disney television star said that "over the past year and half I've been doing some healing and self-reflective work, and through this work I've had the revelation that I identify as non-binary". The 28-year-old continued: "With that said I'll officially be changing my pronouns to they/them. "I feel that this best represents the fluidity I feel in my gender expression and allows me to be true to the person that I both know I am and still am discovering." https://twitter.com/ddlovato/status/1394913210856185858 Lovato went on to tell their followers that "not only has my life been a journey for myself, I was also living for those on the other side of the cameras". Lovato said that they "don't claim to be an expert or a spokesperson" on the subject. The singer will be speaking to other non-binary people in a video series about gender identity.
