London’s cat serial killer strikes again

Nearly 150 cat deaths have been attributed to the killer

A notorious cat killer stalking the Croydon area has claimed another victim.

Police were called to recover the decapitated bodies of two cats in Kingston-upon-Thames and Thornton Heath at the weekend.

Since October, at least 150 cats have been found dismembered with either their heads, tails or paws missing. It is believed the cat killer keeps the pieces as ‘trophies’.

It is understood that the person behind the attacks strikes the cats about the head with a blunt object or throws them against a wall. Some cats are believed to have been knocked down by a car before the killer struck the final blow.

In a grisly discovery, a number of cats have undigested chicken in their systems, suggesting than the killer lures its victims to their demise.

Boudicca Rising, co-founder of South Norwood Animal Rescue and Liberty, told the Daily Mail:

“People still think it’s only happening in Croydon and it’s not. We’ve had attacks from Luton all the way down to Frimley in Surrey and across to Farnborough in Hampshire. The attacks are happening anywhere within the M25 and outside of it.

“I believe all the killings to be the work of one person. This person is a serial killer – he is targeting pets and not humans. We’ve got so used to seeing the injuries now that we rarely make a mistake. They are mostly bodies with the heads, or heads and tails, removed. We are being deluged with hundreds and hundreds of calls”

The search for the perpetrator continues.
