Findus’ crispy pancakes are being brought back for Pancake Day

Who wants lemon and sugar when you can have ham and mozzarella?

Pancake day 2019 will give us the chance to scoff down a retro classic after Birds Eye announced the return of crispy pancakes.

The Findus original were nearly taken off our shelves just over three years ago but has since been brought back by Birds Eye, who are offering the savoury snack in three flavours: tomato and mozzarella, ham and mozzarella, and mozzarella.

Sainsbury’s are stocking the product at £1.75 for a pack of four with pancake day coming up this Tuesday, 5 March. So the option of fully re-entering childhood and having savoury pancakes for dinner and sweet pancakes for dessert is fully on the table.

Following the announcement, Birds Eye marketing manager Alessandro Solazzi said: “Findus Crispy Pancakes were an unforgettable part of childhood for many people living in the 70s, 80s and even early 90s. We want modern families to enjoy the same memorable mealtime moments.

“The new Birds Eye Crispy Pancakes still have the iconic crunch of the breadcrumb coating but thanks to new recipes and extra filling they are oozing with delicious flavour.

“We’re so confident in the new taste that we are putting our money where our mouth is and allowing customers to claim their money back if they disagree.”
