Police and the Miami Heat NBA franchise are investigating the matter

Conor McGregor has denied a sexual assault allegation made against him at the NBA finals.

As first reported by TMZ, a woman claimed McGregor sexually assaulted her in a bathroom during Game 4 of the NBA Finals at the Kaseya Center, in Florida, on June 9.

This was the same game that featured the 34-year-old punching Miami Heat mascot ‘Burnie’ as part of a half-time skit. The mascot had to be taken to hospital, as a precaution, after taking two knocks from McGregor.

The Miami Police Department said in a statement:”At this time all we can confirm is that MPD’s Special Victims Unit is investigating a report that was filed Sunday, June 11, 2023. This is an open investigation so no additional information can be released at this time.”

The Miami Heat also released a statement on the matter – ‘We are aware of the allegations and are conducting a full investigation. Pending the outcome of the investigation, we will withhold further comment.’

McGregor released a statement to the media via Kessler PR Group.

Lawyer Barbara R Llanes stated: “Mr McGregor will not be intimidated. The allegations are false.”

The former UFC feather- and light-weight champion recently stated he would be re-entering the USADA drug-testing pool. In order to fight with the promotion again, any fighter needs to make themselves available for drug testing and provide clean samples.

It had been hoped that he would return before the end of the year but UFC president Dana White admitted to reporters that, where McGregor is concerned, nothing can be taken for granted.

On Wednesday, during an appearance on the ‘Kelly and Mark’ show, in the USA, McGregor confirmed to the hosts that he and partner Dee Devlin are expecting a fourth child.

“We’ve got the next one on the way as well,” he said.

“In a couple more weeks we’ll be able to find out the sex is, we’re very excited back home.”
