Krishnan Guru-Murthy gives pro-Brexit Tory MP brutal introduction live on air

Someone get the fire blanket because the burn is real

Channel 4 News presenter Krishnan Guru-Murthy wasn’t there to make friends when he introduced MP Ben Bradley to viewers on Tuesday night.

While it has become clear Brexit has turned into a full-on minefield of confusion, Guru-Murthy gave everyone a clear graph of Bradley’s yo-yo’ing backing of policies.

He said: “The conservative MP Ben Bradley is in the House of Commons. He voted to remain, then became a Brexiteer, then voted against the deal, then voted for the deal, then said he’d struggled to back the deal again but now says he will back the deal.”

He then asked Bradley why he gets to change his mind. Tell us how you really feel, Krishnan!

Doing his best to respond, despite kind of smiling during the introduction, Bradley tells us that he actually hasn’t changed his mind, but the back and forth didn’t end there.

Bradley: “I voted remain in the referendum. What you’ve laid out there is a series of voting differently.”

Guru-Murthy: “So you voted against the deal, and for the deal?”

Bradley: “The thing that I’ve been trying to do since day one is get us out on the date that we promised.”

Guru-Murthy: “Are you now in favour of Brexit?”

Bradley: “Yes. I am in favour of Brexit. I voted to remain in the referendum as a ‘better-the-devil-you-know’ scenario, I’ve never been pro-European. It was pretty clear to me that leaving would be tough.”

Guru-Murthy: “You get to change your mind and you don’t want anyone else the chance to change their mind.”

Yep, Guru-Murthy was not going to let up, coming in for the kill over and over again, hammering home the point that the politicians get to change their minds on the same topic, but won’t give the general public the same opportunity.

Meanwhile, Brexit is set to take hold in less than two weeks. Probably. Maybe.
