Channel 4 are showing Christmas films today and people are confused as heck

White Christmas in May. Who'd have thunk it?

This May Bank Holiday makes it 208 days until Christmas. But that hasn’t stopped Channel 4 from getting in the festive spirit.

The broadcaster is airing 1954 Christmas classic “White Christmas” on More 4 today.

The “official reason” for the odd scheduling is to coincide with the anniversary of the song White Christmas, which was released on May 30 back in 1942. Bing Crosby’s version of the song is supposedly the highest selling single of all time, so it would make sense for one of the channels to honour the anniversary.

Of course what with it being a Bank Holiday morning and a few people only just managing to rise out of bed, some people think More 4 are trying to trick those hungover into thinking they have overslept by a few months.

Still, it’s always nice to get in the Christmas mood, and White Christmas is a classic film. Why not have some fun?

If we fancy showing some more Christmas films in the middle of summer can we suggest you show Elf next? Or maybe Jingle All The Way? Is it too cliche now to say Die Hard is a Christmas film? Because we’d love to watch Die Hard tonight More 4. Make it so. Please. We just really like Die Hard.
