BREAKING: Philippe Coutinho’s house targeted in Barcelona robbery

It topped off a miserable Monday

He didn’t have the best start to the week.

As if Mondays aren’t bad enough, Philippe Coutinho suffered a double whammy of bad news this week.

Coutinho had gone out for dinner on Monday night and returned at 1:30am on Tuesday morning to discover that his house had been broken into, according to reports from Spain.

It was a horrible way for Coutinho’s day to end after the Barcelona star’s Audi was towed away by the authorities earlier in the day.

He is reported to have informed the police of the burglary immediately upon arriving home from his dinner out on Monday night.

Luis Suarez helped Philippe Coutinho choose his house when he moved to Barcelona in January, after the pair became good friends during their time playing together at Liverpool.

Coutinho is ineligible for tonight’s Champions League tie between Chelsea and Barcelona having played for Liverpool in the group stages, and has elected to stay in Catalonia.

The midfielder has played seven games for Barcelona since joining the Catalan giants in January, and scored one goal in that time.

Barça are still unbeaten in the league and look set to regain the Spanish league title. Coutinho will have his part to play, as the fixtures pile up in the back end of the season.
