‘I expect she made a clean getaway too’
A woman has been caught on CCTV in a bizarre attempt to rob a bank – while wearing yellow washing-up gloves.
The female crook burst into a branch of TSB in Perry Barr in Birmingham and demanded staff fill her floral bag-for-life with cash.
When they refused she attacked a female member of staff before fleeing empty-handed.
The brazen raid took place shortly after 12pm on September 23 last year.
West Midlands Police posted pictures of the woman carrying out the raid on their Birmingham Police Facebook page on Tuesday and asked members of the public for help identifying her.
“We would like to speak to her following an attempted robbery at TSB Bank in Perry Barr on 23 September, shortly after 12pm.
“A member of staff was assaulted by a lady who demanded money.”
Social media users were quick to notice the woman’s strange choice of rubber gloves.
Writing on the police Facebook page, Michael Brook said: “She’ll have to take those marigolds off to handle the money.”
Janet Johns added: “I think that is what you call an armed rubbery. I expect she made a clean getaway too.”
Gavin Howell joked: “Women proving once again they can do two things at once – do the washing up and hold up bank at the same time!”
