We all love a good meme, it has become one of life’s simplest pleasures. Anything and everything can be a meme, as evidenced by the fact that the biggest meme of the past year is a normal photograph of four friends on a night out.
Sometimes, though, a moment happens that is so tailor made for becoming a meme that it seems to have crafted by the gods themselves. One such moment came on Wednesday during Joe Biden’s inauguration as president of the United States.
The event took place, as usual, in Washington DC, and as the cameras panned through the well-wrapped up crowd, it reached a certain Mr. Bernie Sanders.
Sitting on a fold out chair wearing a heavy jacket and mittens, Sanders looked the very epitome of a man who could simply not be arsed attending, and as such the internet grabbed his image and placed himself else.
From Lord of the Rings and Studio Ghibli films, to football stadiums and lush island vistas, the Bernie meme is, quite simply the most popular going around at the moment.
