Benjamin Netanyahu's 12-year reign comes to an end as new Israeli government is approved

Benjamin Netanyahu's 12-year reign as prime minister of Israel has been brought to an end after parliament approved a new Israeli government.

He first assumed power in March 2009. On June 2, leader of the Yamina alliance Naftali Bennett and chairman of the Yesh Atid, Yair Lapid, agreed to form a coalition that has now ousted Natanyahu from power.
