Aubrey Plaza’s husband Jeff Baena found dead at LA home

The pair had been together for 14 years

Law enforcement told TMZ the film director was found dead by an assistant on Friday morning around 10.30am in his home in LA.

The director, most famous for his work on Life After Beth, was pronounced dead at the scene when emergency services arrived.

Baena graduated from New York University with a film degree and moved to LA, seeking to break into the industry.

He worked under big directors such as Robert Zemeckis and David O. Russell as he honed his craft, acting as a production assistant for Zemeckis and as an assistant editor for Russell. 

As well as directing Life After Beth he also directed The Little Hours and co-wrote I Heart Huckabees, which was nominated for a 2004 Gotham Aware for Best Feature. 

Plaza and Baena have been together since 2011 and got married in 2021.

The family told Deadline they are devastated by the news and are asking for privacy at this time.
