AI-generated woman successfully sells nudes to unsuspecting Reddit users

Claudia had them fooled

Reddit users were tricked into buying nude pics from what they believed to be a woman, only to learn the raven-haired hottie was generated by AI.

A user named ‘Claudia’ posted pics on the platform and offered to sell more explicit images to anyone who messaged her privately.

According to reports, several users were keen. One offered to pay, and the other asked the AI out, after dropping that he made a six-figure salary.

In scenes reminiscent of the 1985 movie Weird Science – where two nerds make a dream girl on a computer – the Redditor’s were left a little red-faced when news spread that Claudia, was the invention of two computer science students.

The duo created the account ‘u/Cl4ud14’ to see if their pics would good enough to fool people. And, it turns out they were.

The students told Rolling Stone they made $100 off the AI nudes.

Claudia was reportedly created by Stable Diffusion, an AI program that makes realistic photos using simple text prompts.

To create Claudia, her creators, told the program to make a selfie of a woman in her house, make-up free, with black, shoulder-length hair, with bangs.

The students then made explicit posts detailing what Claudia liked to get up to in her leisure time, and like her pics, they caught on.

Reddit users wanted to know, and see, more.

Hundreds of comments were left on her posts, including an inspirational message telling Claudia she’s make a “great trophy wife someday.”

Then one user shattered the erotic dreams of many, pointing out that if you’d spent any time working on AI images models, you can “10000% tell”.

One Reddit user told the Washington Post that they “feel a bit cheated” after learning Claudia was a fake.

Stability AI, the London start-up behind Stable Diffusion, prohibits users from creating “obscene, lewd, lascivious, offensive [and] pornographic” images with its technology.
