Bruce Springsteen opens Brooklyn show with a cover of Prince’s Purple Rain

Fantastic tribute

Leave it to The Boss.

Bruce Springsteen and guitarist Nils Lofgren paid the perfect homage to Prince at their show in Brooklyn on Saturday night.

They opened with Purple Rain, and it was spectacular. If Lofgren’s guitar solo doesn’t make the hairs on your neck stand up, please seek medical attention.

“Whenever I saw Prince, I left the show humbled,” The Boss told the crowd after this spectacular version of, arguably, the late singer’s crowning glory.

Wow.

Prince died at his home in Minneapolis on Thursday at the age of 57.
