Tomcraft, DJ known for number one track Loneliness, dies aged 49

Tomcraft shot to fame in the 90’s and early 00’s with his hit song ‘Loneliness’ which reached number eight in the UK in 2002 and reached the number one spot the following year.

Bruckner’s devastated family made the announcement on social media. A statement read: “With a heavy heart, we need to inform you that yesterday, 15 July 202, our beloved father and husband has passed away. We will forever carry you in our hearts and love you until we're reunited again.”

Judge Jules said he was a “lovely guy who made one of the greatest records ever.”

Upon the release of Bruckner’s biggest hit, it is said that Judge Jules couldn't get enough of the track, spinning it for 13 straight weeks on his BBC Radio 1 show, as per the BBC.

Bruckner, who was also known for tracks such as ‘The Circle’, ‘Prosac’ and ‘Silence’, once reflected upon the writing process of ‘Loneliness’ in a book by Jon Kutner and Spencer Leigh  titled 1,000 Number One Hits.

The song reached a new audience last year when it was featured in the film, ‘Saltburn’.

Fans flooded the comments section of the song on YouTube with tributes. On wrote: “RIP Tomcraft, you will live forever through your never dying music.”

While another penned: “RIP, thanks for this unique gift, which will be played forever and ever.”
